Prepared for Labour & Beyond

You’ve organised the nursery, packed your hospital bag and planned for baby’s arrival.

But have you prepared for your recovery?

Most antenatal classes focus on labour and baby care. This session is spilt into 2 Pregnanacy Pilates parts:

Part 1: Focuses on you — your body, your healing and your strength after birth.

Part 2: Helps you prepare for labour, so that you feel confident and ready for birth.

As a women’s health specialist and postnatal personal trainer, I cover what’s often missed.

This workshop gives you practical, realistic guidance so you can feel prepared — not overwhelmed.

You’ll be guided through simple, effective strategies to support your postnatal recovery.

Part 1: Prepared for the 4th Trimester

  • The Postnatal Pelvic Floor & Core
  • C-Section Advice
  • C-Section Scar
  • Eating Well for Postnatal Recovery
  • Essentials for postnatal healing
  • What Can Slow Down Healing
  • Rest, Relaxation & Recovery
  • Your Breath & Core
  • Starting Exercise After Birth
  • The Kegal Continuum
  • C-Section Advice

Part 2: Breathing & Relaxation

This is a 45 minute session dedicated to truly relaxing and practicing breathing for labour.

Part 2: Prepared for Labour

  • Spend time thinking what you will do during your labour.
  • Learning active birth positions
  • Learn how to breath correctly during labour
  • Several relaxation techniques
  • How to stay deeply relaxed when going into situation’s which could stress you (eg arriving at hospital)
  • Practice using a pregnancy ball.

Practice will help these skills to become 2nd nature to you so that when your labour begins you know what to expect and what to do. We do deep breathing, relaxation breathing, use affirmations, touch, movement, and vocalisation. When it comes to your labour you might find one thing works better than the other.

Relaxation during pregnancy is wonderful for both you and baby too. It helps to reduce stress, increase your sense of well being and gives you time to focus on baby.

I attended Natasha's Mum2Be classes as well as the Birth Prep classes before having my second baby. I would fully recommend these classes to anyone, especially the Birth Prep classes which helped me prepare mentally for my birth. During my labour the breathing and relaxation taught by Natasha were invaluable, and I believe contributed to the text book birth I experienced.

In my third trimester I completed the breathing and relaxation class with Natasha. The intimate nature of the class made it really comfortable. The class consisted of post birth exercises and stretches plus nutritional advice with scientific reasoning. We then did breathing, stretching and relaxation which included the process and mind-set of a typical physiological birth from home to hospital. Which was really useful as I was able to picture and prepare for what is coming. I am feeling so much better prepared for the birth process after the class and would recommend.

I benefited from the 4th trimester workshop to prepare for Labour and beyond. As a first time mum it was good to have honest advice and tips at this challenging time - I particularly found the breathing techniques very helpful before and during labour. Natasha’s expertise was invaluable but I actually gained so much more because I also made some great friends ☺️ I would recommend this class to any new Mama’s to be!
