C-Section, Hysterectomy & Abdominal Scar Therapy in Langley
I provide specialist C-section scar massage and scar therapy in Langley for women recovering from C-sections, hysterectomies and other abdominal surgery. With over 7 years specialising in scar therapy and more than 22 years’ experience as a Personal Trainer and Massage Therapist, I take a whole-body approach to your recovery.
As a Pilates Instructor with over 14 years’ experience and specialist training in women’s health, core rehabilitation and postnatal recovery, I look at more than just the scar itself. I consider how your scar and surrounding tissues may be affecting your movement, posture, core and pelvic health, and what you want to get back to doing.
Where appropriate, I combine hands-on scar therapy with personalised movement and exercise, helping you improve mobility, rebuild strength and feel more comfortable and confident in your body. Your treatment is tailored to you, your surgery, your recovery and your individual goals.

How C-Section Scar Massage Can Help
As a scar heals, the surrounding tissues can sometimes feel tight, sensitive, numb or restricted. You may notice pulling, discomfort or changes in how you move and feel around your abdomen.
C-Section Scar massage uses gentle, hands-on techniques to work with the scar and surrounding tissues. Depending on your individual scar, surgery and recovery, treatment may help:
Improve the mobility and flexibility of scar tissue
Reduce feelings of tightness, pulling and restriction
Improve comfort with movement and everyday activities
Support improvements in sensation around the scar
Support core function and postural awareness
Support your return to exercise and strength training
Every treatment is tailored to you and carried out at a pace that feels comfortable. Before we begin, I’ll assess your scar, surrounding tissues and movement so we can work out the most appropriate approach for your needs.
Rebuilding Your Core & Strength After C-Section or Abdominal Surgery
C-Section Scar massage can be combined with personalised exercise to support your wider recovery.
As a specialist Personal Trainer with expertise in women’s health and core rehabilitation, I can help you gradually rebuild your strength, improve how you move and feel more confident in your body.
Depending on your goals, this may include simple home exercises, core rehabilitation, Pilates-inspired movement or progressive strength training.
Whether you want to feel stronger after pregnancy or surgery, return to exercise, get back to lifting weights or simply feel more comfortable in your body, we start where you are and progress gradually.
One-to-one Personal Training is available in my private gym in Langley, providing a comfortable and supportive environment to work towards your individual goals.

C-Section Scar Massage FAQ
When can I start scar massage after a C-section?
You can typically begin around 8 weeks postnatal, once your scar is fully healed and you’ve had clearance from your midwife, GP, or consultant.
Why should I get a C-section scar massage?
Scar massage can help:
Reduce tightness, numbness, or pulling
Improve blood flow and healing
Prevent or soften adhesions (internal scar tissue)
Support emotional healing and body confidence
Does it hurt?
No – it should never be painful. We work gently and gradually, only within your comfort zone. You’re always in control.
What does a scar massage session involve?
A gentle consultation and check-in
Hands-on massage around the scar and surrounding tissues
Education on how to safely massage the scar at home
- Home exercises to help strengthen your core & reduce the overhang
Breathing and relaxation techniques to support healing
Can you still massage older scars?
Yes! Even if your C-section was months or years ago, scar therapy can still be beneficial. It’s never too late to support better function and comfort.
What should I wear to a session?
Wear comfortable clothing. You may be asked to lower your waistband slightly for access to the scar area. Your privacy and comfort are always respected.
Is it safe after multiple C-sections?
Yes – massage can be especially helpful if you've had multiple surgeries, as it helps release deeper layers of scar tissue.
Do I need to bring anything?
Just bring yourself. If you’ve had recent clearance or notes from your doctor or midwife, you’re welcome to share them, but it’s not essential.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your scar, how your body is healing, and your goals. Some people feel relief after 1–2 sessions, while others benefit from a few more for lasting change.
I am looking forward to having more scar massage sessions and trying out the pilates sessions too 🙂
